A terrified tabby cat finally has been rescued from his perch on a freeway sign in Elhart, Indiana, after being stuck for more than two days.
He was wearing a flea collar, but no tags or chip. Officials suspect that he was thrown over the side of the St Joseph Valley Parkway overpass.
Though scared out of his wits, the sweet boy was described as “friendly” by the staff of the Humane Society of Elkhart County, who is treating him for dehydration. They’ve named him “Freeway.”
Society Assistant Director Megan Gontermanshe suspects he was tossed from the bridge. “There was no way he could have jumped that far,” she said.
